The rabbit starts his story the same each day. Waking up by the same schedule, thinking to himself “What makes today different”? He gets ready and waits for his ride, as he waits he sees his friend. He walks over to his friend with his big clunky feet. The rabbit sees his feet as clunky but they bring more balance to him than he realizes. As he converses with his friend he listens and replying when needed. As he listens he’s analyzing for his big ears do more than he thinks. All he sees them as is ears but really they listen for so much more than he realizes. When sitting in the car he’s quiet saying something every now and then or saying he’s tired to avoid conversation. And as he sits quietly, he is in deep thought overthinking everything. As he arrives to school he is only more isolated in the forest of students. Realizing throughout the day he regrets his actions. Like why did you go out this weekend? However The Rabbit needs to understand he is not alone and can only fix things if he opens up. The Rabbit helps more than he realizes and needs to keep the friends he has.
Rational/They say
To begin things, this they say is about the personality myth. They say that everyone has the personality they are born with, which is not entirely true. Personalities can change throughout one's life based off of who influences them. Personality does make the person who they are. So, keeping the same personality that you are born with makes no sense. “People are capable of change”. “Maybe we aren’t thinking about who we can be”. Those are just a few quotes and the second quote really goes deep. As in it saying we are taught to behave a certain way. And from this people can change and be who they want to be if they try.
I say my personality has grown over the years and made me what i am today. I feel like a super big part of that was being raised by my mom. She taught me to treat everyone with kindness and respect; The basic golden rule. Another strong influencer is my stepdad who is there still but as I went through middle school he helped shape me a lot. Why I drew my piece how I did is it's a reflection of how i really see myself. The big ears represent my large ears that i have. “ALONE” is written across one eye and an “X” on the other to represent how I see the world right now and myself in it as is. I know I am not actually alone it is just how I feel on the inside. Why I have no other facial features is because without my glasses I feel like i have no face. My glasses are what made my face whole in my opinion. I know I have actual facial features, I just feel like they don’t make my face; if that makes sense. I have many friends who do care about me I will admit that right now. I just feel alone in my mind. Maybe it is because I let my mind race too much. I have so many wandering thoughts all the time and honestly that's why I am really quiet half the time I just say I am tired to avoid these things.

I like how descriptive you were and the meaning behind your flash fiction. Also, I find it interesting that you say you have friends but in your mind you feel lonely. Most people don't understand when someone says that but I can definitely connect with that. Overall it's a really good piece and you did a good job on your They Say/I Say.
ReplyDeleteI feel that his image really reflected the rational that was provided, and vise-versa. The one thing I seen was that the one-pager was included in the rational and it didn’t really make sense when talking about the personality myth, with the way it needed to be structured. There was a short they say, but there was no he/she says, therefore, the one-pager was not finished, but it was still a valid document.
ReplyDeleteso take it that the rabbit is you. you dont got big ears silly. no but seriously i like the fact that you mad it relatable about some peoples common problems.
ReplyDeleteI like how you talked about the features on bunny. Such as big ears to hear more than he realizes and how talking about big feet, standing out from everyone. As for your they/say I like how you made your reasons based on things about you.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of people that feel this way, maybe more than you think. You just have to find the friends that make you feel important in life and stick with them. As far as the rest of the blog I think you had a really good idea using the rabbit and nailed it.

ReplyDeleteI really like the symbolism that you used. I think it was very creative to see that you had drawn the image you used. The writing says a lot about your veiws and who you are as a person and I think that's something that you should be proud of.
Over all, very good work!

I like the way your flash fiction seems to be about another animal, or another person that you see, but it's really about how you are and how you think you fit into the world every day. It's easy to relate to your flash fiction because, everyone has at least one thing that separates them from everyone else and see it as something that is just there to get in the way. Your rationale and one pager go well with the rest of your piece and help show how you feel like you're alone even when you aren't. Your whole piece just shows how much people take for granted about themselves.
